Term 2 2016

Exploring Circuits

The students from Kauri and Rata are learning about electricity. Today they have begun their 'wondering' with circuits.

Check out our school facebook page for some videos.

Thanks to QUOTA we now have 6 classrooms with an OTICON hearing system. Tamariki with hearing issues are able to hear more easily and the teacher only needs to use a very quiet voice when speaking. It also allows students to share with their classmates... and be heard.

The ladies from QUOTA have also sewn book bags for every child in our junior school.

Last week the students in Kauri decided to hold a mufti day and raise funds for the QUOTA ladies. The money raised was given to QUOTA today when some of the ladies came for morning tea. They are going to use the money to make some weighted blankets for our tamariki.

The students in Kauri are excited to have a new OTICON system AND to have the QUOTA ladies visit their classroom to receive the money raised from a mufti day.

These students have received certificates today for both their positive attitude towards their learning and their ability to talk about what they are learning to do in maths problem solving,  reading and cyber safety.

Nga mihi ki a koutou - Congratulations!
